Bastrop : SUP El Camino Real 2017

August 12, 2017 - 3:00pm to 11:00pm

Join us for the 5th Annual SUP El Camino Real on Saturday, August 12! Beginners and master paddlers are invited to trail six miles down the Colorado River to the finish line. The Colorado River is a class 1 river—so no worries about portaging rapids. The six-mile race is a combination of competition and recreation, which is perfect for new and old SUPers alike. Participants will begin at the Old Iron Bridge at 6 p.m. and follow the course to the Colorado River Refuge. An after-party and awards ceremony will kick off at 7:30 p.m. for racers and their fans at Neighbor’s Kitchen & Yard.
Registration will be from 3–5 p.m. at Fisherman’s Park. The registration fee for adults is $65, and youth (ages 13–17) can register for $45. After, SUPers are required to attend a pre-race meeting at 5:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to drop their cars off at the finish line prior to race time to transport themselves and their equipment back after they have completed the course. A free pre-race shuttle will be available at the finish line from 4–5 p.m. to drive competitors back to the start.
