After the revolution, Sam Houston opened a law office on one of the town’s traditional plazas. Memorabilia from Houston and other Texas notables await visitors and researchers at the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center. The 110-acre, park-like complex includes the Gov. Price and Jean Daniel home, two restored historic homes and an 1898 church.
