The Texas City Museum is a history museum located in the former JC Penney's building on Texas City's beautiful Historic 6th Street. The Museum also manages the historic homes at Heritage Square Park and the Bell House of the 1867 Settlement.

Map & Directions

From I-45 take the FM 1764 E/Texas City exit. Continue on FM 1764 E. Turn right on 6th Street North. The Museum is on the right.

The Museum features artifacts from the USS Westfield (including a real Civil War cannon), exhibits on the founding of Texas City and the 1947 Disaster, as well as the Children's Discovery room which has interactive displays. The Texas City Museum is also home to the Galveston County Model Railroad Club and their layouts can be viewed Saturdays from 11am-4pm.
